This procedure explains how to perform the Correlation Procedure on the OP 40-F1 Promess Press Unit. The Correlation Procedure compares a reading from a Sensor to the reading on the Promess Press. This procedure is used to check if a Promess Press is operating correctly.

PROCEDURE:

1. Place the station in Runout Mode and wait until all parts are out of the station. Click here for procedure
   
2. Get the Correlation kits out of the storage cabinet and bring to station.
   
3. Turn the Mode Selection Switch to the MANUAL position.
   
4. Remove the Hand Held Unit from its case, plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet and plug the cord into the unit to power it on.
   
5. Remove the Correlation Fixture from its case.
   
6. Open the station door and place the fixture in the Dial load position. The station number will be stamped on the fixture.
   
7. Open the Hand Held Unit's case and remove Sensor 2.
   
8. Remove the black pin from the Correlation Fixture.
   
9. Slide Sensor 2 into the Correlation Fixture.
   
   Sensor 2 is the larger Sensor and has LBO-10K stamped on it.
   
10. Replace the black pin to hold the Sensor in position.
    
11. Wrap the Sensor cord around the Indexer to prevent it from catching on something when the Indexer is indexed.
    
12. Close the station door, power up the station and push the (K3) Manual key to display the Manual Functions Page 1 Screen.
    
13. Push the (F11) Carrier Index Dial - INDEX key. The Carrier Dial will index 180 degrees, placing the Correlation Fixture in the work position.
    
14. Open the station door, route the cable through the station door opening and then plug it into the Hand Held Unit.
    
15. Verify that Sensor 2 is selected on the handheld unit. If it isn't, select Sensor 2 now. Click here for procedure
    
16. Push the ZERO key to reset the handheld unit to "0".
    
17. Close the station door, power up the station and push the (K6) Maintenance key to display the System Screen.
    
18. Push the (F15) Correlation key to display the Correlation Screen.
    
19. Push the (F9) RAISE LIFT key. The button icon will turn green once the Lift is raised.
    
20. Push the (F3) Correlation On key. This will enable the Correlation Start key.
    
21. Next, push the (F4) Correlation Start key. The Promess press will move to the first position.
    
22. The Promess Press reading will be displayed on the HMI. The reading should be approximately 2 kN.
    
23. Compare this reading with that displayed on the Hand Held Unit. The displayed values should be the approximately same.
    
24. Then, push the (F6) Correlation Continue key. The Promess Press will move to the second position.
    
25. The Promess Press reading will be displayed on the HMI. The reading should be approximately 8 kN.
    
26. Compare this reading with that displayed on the Hand Held Unit. The displayed values should be approximately the same.
    
27. Push the (F6) Correlation Continue key again to complete the cycle.
    
28. Push the RETURN HOME pushbutton to return all devices to their home positions.
    
29. Open the station door and remove the Sensor from the Correlation Fixture.
    
30. Close the station door, power up the station and push the (K3) Manual key to display the Manual Functions Page 1 Screen.
    
31. Push the (F11) Carrier Index Dial - INDEX key. The Carrier Rotate will index 180 degrees, placing the Correlation Fixture in the pick position.
    
32. Open the station door and remove the Correlation Fixture from the Dial.
    
33. Place the Correlation Fixture back into its case.
    
34. Place the Hand Held Unit and Sensor 2 back into its case.
    
35. Return both cases to the storage cabinet.
