This procedure explains how to manually assemble and load gears at Operation 20-F-2. This procedure must be performed if the Letnan is inoperable and the station must be fed by hand.

PROCEDURE:
  1. Position baskets of parts near the conveyor that transports gears from the Letnan into the station.
  2. Each gear assembly consists of one gear, one pin and 18 needle bearings.
  3. Place the pin (Part # 6L2P-7C074-AA) in the middle of the gear (Part # 6L2P-7H347-AA). The pin can be oriented either end up.
  4. Then, place the 18 needle bearings (Part # 6L2P-7G223-AA) around it. The needle bearings can be oriented either end up.
  5. Next, carefully place the gear assembly into one of the conveyor belt pockets.
  6. Orient the gear assembly so the chamfered end of the gear is facing towards the HMI side of the station.

The conveyor starts and stops automatically so exercise caution when placing the gear assembly onto the conveyor belt.
  7. Make sure each gear assembly is fully seated into the conveyor belt pockets. Misaligned gears will be detected by a photo eye which will generate a fault and stop the station.
