This procedure explains how to dress the Grinding Wheel. Dressing the Grinding Wheel is required periodically to keep the Grinding Wheel
surface flat, clean and at the proper roughness to balance Grinding Speed with
Micro Finish.
The Grinding Wheel should be manually dressed whenever a new Grinding Wheel is
installed, damage is noticed on the Grinding Wheel, a Part Angle adjustment
has been made to the B Axis to remove taper, Micro Finish is too rough or Chatter
is observed.
PROCEDURE:
- Close the Grinder
Doors.
- Go to the Operator Control Panel and push the Program
pushbutton to bring up the Program
Check Screen.
- Next, use the keyboard and type in O 200
to call up the manual dress program.
- Push the button located below the "0
SRH" displayed on the bottom of the screen.
- Next, turn the Mode
Select Knob to the AUTO
MODE position.
- Push the WHEEL
ON/OFF pushbutton to start
the Grinding Wheel. Once the light inside the WHEEL ON/OFF pushbutton stops blinking, the Grinding Wheel is ready to be dressed.
- Go to the SBS Balancing System controller and push the SHOW
ALL key.
- Then, push the AEMS key.
- Push DRESS,
located on the SBS Balancing System.
- Go back to the Operator Control Panel and push the Cycle
Start pushbutton to start the
dressing program.
- Allow the
dressing program to run for several complete passes
and until the SBS
Balancing System displays a straight line across the entire window.
- When the Diamond Dresser Blade is not touching the Grinding Wheel, push
the yellow
RESET pushbutton to stop the dressing program and reset the Grinder.
